I Passed the Fortinet NSE 4 - FortiOS 7.6 Administrator Exam: What I Learned Along the Way
Hello everybody,
I've just passed the Fortinet NSE 4 - FortiOS 7.6 Administrator examination and wanted to share a few thoughts regarding my experience with this certification exam for those who are going to take it. I noticed during my preparation that while reading about the FortiGate features and understanding of how they work are two quite different things. I had to pay special attention to the topics relating to firewall policies, routing and VPNs, since what was really important there was to understand the reasons of traffic behavior rather than knowing just locations of a specific parameter in the settings. For this purpose, I used Fortinet's official documentation and training materials, and, wherever possible, related theoretical information to the practical configuration of a firewall. In addition, I took notes of all concepts which I had trouble distinguishing. After covering all the major topics, I tested myself using Fortinet NSE 4 - FortiOS 7.6 Administrator practice test questions from Pass4Future. Answering a question incorrectly was a good prompt for me to go back to the related topic rather than memorize the right answer to that question.
My suggestion to all candidates preparing for the exam would be to make sure you have adequate time to learn the technical aspects and then have enough time left to practice at the end. I am very interested in hearing from other candidates on their experience with the exam: which part of the exam was difficult for you – troubleshooting scenarios or learning the different features of FortiOS? Is there a particular lab exercise or resource that helped you?
